Class descriptions
Tiny Dancer I & Tiny Dancer II are once a week dance classes for ages 3 to 6 that focus on creative movement utilizing fundamental ballet, jazz, and tap technique. Dancers will learn proper terminology, work on flexibility, coordination, musicality and how to follow direction in a fun and positive environment. Combo I & Combo II are once a week classes for 6 to 12 year olds that combine ballet, tap, and jazz. These classes continue to build on fundamental ballet, jazz, and tap technique with an emphasis on building each dancer's physical ability in advancing levels of choreography and musicality. Pre-Competition is once a week for dancers 8+ years old. The two hour class includes ballet, tap, jazz, and technique. This class builds on fundamental ballet, jazz, and tap technique with an emphasis on building each dancer's physical ability in advancing levels of choreography and musicality. Pre-Competition dancers will perform three dances in our annual recital showcase. Recommended for dancers that are interested in auditioning for a competition team the following year or for recreational dancers that just want to dance.
Ballet & Ballet Technique classes are offered for recreational and competition level dancers. Ballet is the foundation of all dance and is required as a fundamental study and compliment for all styles of dance. All dancers are taught proper dance terminology and technique that is both age and level appropriate. Ballet classes further develop grace, poise, flexibility, articulation and performance.

Pre-Pointe & Pointe classes are offered for one hour once a week. Pre-pointe is a pointe preparation class for serious ballet students to further develop and strengthen the muscles necessary to go en pointe. Pre-pointe class stresses correct alignment and correct ballet technique. Pre-pointe class also allows our staff to assess dancer readiness to advance to en pointe. Previous ballet training is required and placement in pre-pointe and pointe classes is at the discretion and approval of our staff only.

Lyrical classes are offered for recreational and competition level dancers. Lyrical classes combine technical components of ballet with the freedom and fluidity of jazz. Lyrical is an expressive style of dance that allows the dancer to interpret and express the emotions, lyrics and story associated with a piece of music. Lyrical dancers will perform in our annual recital showcase.

Hip Hop classes incorporate a variety of old and new urban dance styles. that represent body movements that go with the beat and rhythm of the music. Hip Hop is very dynamic and helps the dancers improve flexibility, develop body balance, rhythm, musicality and coordination. Classes are available for boys and girls. Hip Hop dancers will perform in our annual recital showcase.
Clogging is a genre of dance that uses percussive footwork through the striking of either a heal or a toe in order to create audible rhythms. Dancers will learn beginning level traditional and contemporary clogging techniques that will include the use of arm movement, footwork, correct body alignment and musicality. Clogging dancers will perform in our annual recital showcase.
Acrobatics (Acro) - Beginner & Intermediate classes are a combination of dance technique and the precision and athleticism of acrobatic elements. Acro dancers blend musicality, emotional expression, line and extension with acrobatic movements. School Dance Team Prep is a class that prepares dancers ages 11 to 18 interested in trying out for local middle school and high school dance teams.
